Ten Years Of Sporty Stripes!

Wayyyy back in 2014, we had a dream: to create the world’s coolest hosiery (yes, we do tend to dream big around here). They had to be unique, they had to have attitude, and they had to look awesome with pretty much anything our Sharkies chose to pair ‘em with.

Well look: we don’t mean to brag or anything, but we kinda nailed it on the first try.

We unleashed the Sporty Stripes Hosiery onto the world in April 2014, and they quickly became THE styling piece for the Sharkie closet. Ten years and a couple of versions later, they are still our bestselling hosiery of all time.

What makes ‘em so awesome? Let’s get the low-down.

Super Stretchy, Super Tough

Our Sporty Stripes are made on special machines in Italy that create a thick, 37-denier hosiery knit with four-way stretch. We make ‘em in one size, and because of the suuuuuper stretch factor, they fit comfortably (and look awesome) across our entire size range, from XXS to XXL. 

This fabrication method also makes our hosiery extra durable. While we wouldn’t recommend going rockclimbing in them, they hold up to frequent wear while still looking awesome – which is good, because you’re kinda going to want to wear them every day.

Designed For Epicness

The basic concept for the Sporty Stripes was “over-the-knee-socks, but with way more attitude”. The solid lower half is simple enough to let your outfit shine, while the stripes and fishnet panels add a garter-like effect that is kinda sporty, kinda edgy, and effortlessly cool. The boyleg-style solid top adds accidental-undie-flashing protection, so you can confidently pair ‘em with shorter styles.

Bonnie usually wears size M and is 180 cm / 5’11” tall

Casey usually wears size XL and is 164 cm / 5’4″ tall

Grace usually wears size S and is 176 cm / 5’8″ tall

How To Style?

Sporty Stripes are by far one of our most versatile styling pieces, and we’ve seen peeps use ‘em in thousands of epic looks over the years. Let the stripes do the talking with a mini skirt (or even just a longer tee), make a statement in all black, or create unexpected contrast with a cute, colourful print.
