What is your role at BlackMilk? Cutting Coordinator

How long have you been working at BM? 2.5 years

What does a typical day at work look like for you? I like to come in a little early to turn on the machines, then I sit down and enjoy my coffee and prepare for the day ahead. I issue the previous day’s fabric usage and help finish all the reprints, samples, promos and oversold products – anything urgent really. I aim to finish it all by 10am, if not, by 12pm at the latest. 

Next I start on bulk orders and make myself available to help resolve any issues with fabric we have already cut, or help team members that might need it. Sometimes there will be urgent orders that we need to get to, so I make markers for them so we can spread and cut ASAP. Then lunch! 

After lunch I will still be doing bulk orders while I try to issue any orders that have been finished. On some days I need to jump into making markers for any reprints, recuts and samples so we can cut them the same day or early next day. After that I throw away the fabric waste, prepare for the next shift’s work, check the next day’s schedule then it’s home time for me!

What’s your fave thing about working at BM? The people!

What BlackMilk work achievement are you most proud of? My previous role where I worked in all the departments! It was so much fun!

What’s your fave BlackMilk piece? My Fragrance Of Violets Rio Playsuit! 

Describe your style in three words? Cute, comfy, on Wednesdays we wear pink!

What do you love to do in your spare time? Garden, read books and spend time with my fur baby.

Fave food? Filipino food!

Do you have a hidden talent? If I have one, I think it’s still hidden!

What can’t you live without? My dog and my hubby.

What are three items you’d take with you to a deserted island? Books, seeds so I can start my own garden, and sunscreen!

What book should people read? Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs and Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas.

What was the last show you binge watched? Grey’s Anatomy and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

What are you listening to at the moment? Casefile, Kowabana, random music saved in my Spotify, and my books in my audible! 

If you could go anywhere on your next holiday, where would you go? Anywhere??? I would go to Pandora from the Avatar movies!   

Anything else you want to add? I love working here. People embrace individuality and creativity, and you can wear whatever you want and not feel insecure thinking you might be wearing something that is too much for other people. It’s been amazing.
