Graphic Textile Artist

How long have you been working at BM? 
Exactly 2 Years and 6 Months

What does a typical day at work look like for you? 
7:30am – Order some test swatches of some new prints I’m working on.

8am – Send some samples to sewing.

8:30am – Do some concept research.

9am – Grab a coffee with the Graphics Girls.

9:30am – Make the art for the full size range for an approved product.

10am – Fitting some new samples with the Senior Designer.

11am – Work on some art for a burned velvet or foil fabric.

12:30pm – Grab lunch from a yummy bakery up the road.

1pm – Do some concepts for a new collection. 

2pm – Order some new samples. 

2:30pm – Spend the afternoon drawing some art for a new product.

3:30pm – Home time!

What’s your fave thing about working at BM? 
All the lovely, kind and smart people I get to work with every day and that I get to make beautiful clothes!

What BlackMilk work achievement are you most proud of?
Winning the Love It award at the Christmas party. I really do love BlackMilk so much!

Note: BM have yearly team member achievement awards based on our LEGS principles – Love it, Efficiency, Genuine Friendship and Super Cool!).

What’s your fave BlackMilk piece?
My forever fave is Peaking Peonies. My fave I’ve made is Space Gummies and Wildest Dreams.

Pink, Rainbow and Fun!

What do you love to do in your spare time?
Play video games, go to concerts, go on adventures and play my ukulele!

Fave food? 
Mac & Cheese, Fried Chicken and Milkshakes

Do you have a hidden talent?
I know every word of Mulan and I can give a very passionate performance of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (the guy part AND the girl part) on karaoke.

What can’t you live without?
My Hair Brush, I hate when my hair is knotty! 

What are three items you’d take with you on a deserted island? 
A helicopter, a helicopter pilot and something to read on the way home hehe.

What book should people read? 
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and/or Vagabonding

What was the last show you binge watched?
Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 13, I just got into it and now I’m going back and watching all the other seasons. I am OBSESSED!

What are you listening to at the moment?
Music: Tame Impala, Daft Punk and Khruangbin

Japan! I have never travelled overseas and I have so much money saved up so I’m desperate for the border to open.
