24 May Meet The Team: Casey (Customer Experience Specialist)
MEET THE BM TEAM!

First name: Casey ✨
Nickname: I don’t have one – I guess my name is perfect just the way it is.
What is your role at BlackMilk? I am one of the five Customer Experience Specialists. That means I get to chat to and help customers via email, live chat and all of our social media channels.
How long have you been working at BM? A little over two years.
What does a typical day at work look like for you? Our team starts bright and early at 7am. The first thing that I absolutely need to do is drink my coffee – my emails make a whole lot less sense without my morning coffee.
Then we check over our workload – we triage the new emails that have come in overnight and assign out the tasks for the day. Each member of the team gets a different social media channel to watch over for the day, so we usually start the day by answering the DMs and comments that have come in overnight. We also make sure to get back to all of the most urgent emails first (usually order changes or anything that needs to be done asap).
Throughout the rest of the day we just try to get back to as many customer emails as we can – while answering live chats, checking over social media and any extra meetings or tasks that we might have that day. Then at 3pm we go home, and start it all again the next day.
What’s your fave thing about working at BM? This might be cheesy but my favourite thing about working at BM is definitely the people! BMHQ is full of such wonderful, caring and creative people that I am lucky enough to work with and call my friends.
Special mention to my work-wife Leonie – here is a cute pic of us from the 2022 BlackMilk Christmas party. If you can guess which dynamic duo we are dressed as, then I think you should be my friend!

What BlackMilk work achievement are you most proud of? Whenever a customer lets me know that something I helped them with made a big difference, or that the BM gear I helped them to buy made them feel really good, it truly warms my heart. I’m pretty proud of any difference like that I can make!
Really sweet customer messages are probably the reason that I have been in Customer Service for more than 10 years. I actually save lots of the really nice comments from BM customers on my computer, so if I am getting a bit stressed, I can take a minute and read them to bring a smile back to my face.
What’s your fave BlackMilk piece? My favourite (and probably most worn) BlackMilk piece is my Animal Crossing Fruit Tie The Knot Dress. I love the Animal Crossing games, and this style is cute, comfy and just so easy to wear.
Describe your style in three words: Alternative, vintage and fun! I don’t really stick to one aesthetic, I think you’ve just gotta wear the clothes that will make you feel good that day.
What do you love to do in your spare time? You can often find me at a good drag show or metal gig in Brisbane. But most of the time I’m at home hanging out with my partner and my dog, probably watching some TV or playing a good board game – maybe even some DnD.

Fave food? Pasta or tacos – basically any kind of Mexican or Italian food and I am there.
Do you have a hidden talent? Does being observant count as a hidden talent? Because I am arguably too observant. I always notice what is going on around me, so people generally ask me what is going on or where someone has gone. I usually have the answer!
What can’t you live without? My partner, my friends and my dog 🐶
What are three items you’d take with you to a deserted island? My phone, a portable charger and probably a boat so I could get back off the island.
What book should people read? A Stolen Life by Jaycee Lee Dugard – if you like true crime, then I definitely recommend it.
What was the last show you binge watched? The Legend of Vox Machina – it’s a really smart and funny animated TV series. If you like DnD or the fantasy genre, then this show is absolutely for you.
What are you listening to at the moment? My music taste is really broad from musical theatre to KPop and everything in between – but usually I’m listening to pop-punk and metal.
If you could go anywhere on your next holiday, where would you go? Japan – I have been wanting to visit and see the cherry blossom trees for years 🌸
Anything else you want to add? Nope, I think I have already said too many things 😂
Just for fun, show us your pets!! I have to add in a pic of my dog Sasha – she’s a Cocker Spaniel and she’s about to celebrate her 10th birthday. I rescued her about five years ago, and have made being a dog-mum my main personality trait ever since 😅
