*** For all those who have asked - from now all all the printed range will be sewed tight!!! The patterns will go back to the way they were. If you have ANY problems please let me know and I'll fix you up!!!***
This woman is an assistant buyer for Luisa Via Roma. She should call me.
Today I went into a shop that were interested in stocking some of the Black Milk range. I chatted with the girl there (who was young, slim and pretty), and she told me that she would never wear leggings because she didn't have the legs for it. Sooooooooo.... if the sales people wouldn't wear leggings, how will they communicate a passion for the garments to customers? And is she feels her legs aren't good enough for leggings, how will she sell them (in good conscience) to women who's legs may be further away from perfection than her own?
Needless to say, Black Milk has still not found our first retail outlet (which is cool with me!). ;(
However, it does mean more of these conversations:
Some girl: What do you do?
Me: I'm make clothes.
Some girl: You're a fashion designer?!
Some girl: Cool. What shops are your clothes in.
Some girl: Oh.
Me: I have a website.
And a blog.
Some girl: Okay. (Visibly disappointed at discovering she was not talking to a real fashion designer.)
A friend of mine recently talked with a guy in the industry who told him that there was absolutely no way anyone could run a fashion business off a blog.
Wrong suckas! (Damn that felt good... perhaps too good)
2. My mango tree has run out of mangoes. Aaaaaaargh!!!!
