Blood Wing Tights.... by me :)
Okay, some more of my stuff. :)
I can't believe that I put the print on these tights backwards... aaaaaargh!
I thought it would be cool to do a print consisting of a wing, and this is taken from an actual sketch of an eagle wing. They look good from the back. They're nylon.

Rodarte
I probably should have posted about these two very talented ladies earlier.
Rodarte, comprised of sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy have been wowing them in NY for the last couple of years and (of more interest to me) have done some amazing leg wear.
I have no idea how they managed this crazy spider web effect - and for that matter, no idea how you would put them on without getting your toes caught in all the gaps! But kudos to them for pulling it off. Anyone have any idea how much these things cost? I have no idea.
.. and here's a clip for you - it's Fall '08 at NY Fashion Week. (Warning! All the shoes in this video were designed by someone who hates women and wants to watch them suffer.)

When you look like this - it really doesn't matter that the opacity of your pantyhose is unequally distributed.
Heck - am I the only one concerned with a lack of equilibrium in hosiery opacity!? (Ummmm... probably.)
My advice - get that denier up, girl! Shoot for 80 and you'll be fine.

Not Quite Sure What's Going on Here...
Okay, the far left seems to be a pair of jeans with in built leather chaps. Combine that with the denim vest... Brokeback Chic, perhaps?
The second I'm digging. Multiple panels, looks sweet.
The third - more panels, on the upper thigh. Okay, still great.
Fourth one... I'm lost. I have no idea what's going on here. What's with the black patch on the crotch? If anyone can fill me in on what exactly is happening with the leg wear here, I'd be grateful.

Showing your Bear Arms
Okay. Speaking as a designer - creating tights that fit properly is a real challenge. I won't bore you with all the details, but you need to get the fabric to fit the body at several different points - ankle, back of the knee, crotch, waist, etc.
Nicholas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga has obviously just thrown his hands in the air and said "I don't care if the thing fits properly, just sew it!"
And this is what happens.
Do you think she could kill you with her bare hands (Joke! Get it? Bear hands... yeah? I kill me.)

Apparently this woman is a well known actress. I have never seen anything that she's been in. Which probably means that she hasn't been in any superhero movies lately.

Shiny Pink
Hmmm... not sure about this one. What do you guys reckon?
Although I will say that the waist is very wide. Strange.
I have been sewing today. Doing some wetlook stuff... it is soooo difficult to sew. All to do with one way movement on the surface of the fabric... it's kinda technical.
I'll post about some pics tomorrow. :)
